Our Rugs

LAYERS of Morocco is a Moroccan house dedicated to the rebirth of artisanal weaving. Each rug is handcrafted by the women of Sidi Chitaa cooperative. Nestled in the Atlas Mountains, more precisely in Aït Bouguemez Valley, this beautiful region is internationally known as the "Happy Valley". Our mission is to preserve Amazigh weaving traditions while connecting them with contemporary design and fair trade.

How are your rugs made?

Every rug is handwoven in Morocco by women artisans using ancestral Amazigh techniques. Each piece takes weeks to months, woven slowly on traditional looms.

What materials do you use?

We use 100% natural wool from Moroccan sheep, hand-spun and washed without chemicals.


Are all rugs unique?

Yes — no two rugs are ever identical. Slight irregularities are part of their soul.
Orders & Preorders

How long will my rug take to be delivered?

Made-to-order rugs require 4–6 weeks of weaving plus 1–2 weeks for finishing and shipping. this depends on the size and customization of the rug.


Can I customize my rug?

Yes — size and color palette. Do not hesitate to contact we will be more than happy to help you get your dream rug.

What happens after I place an order?

We’ll confirm your order, begin weaving, and share updates from our atelier.
Shipping & Delivery

Do you ship internationally?

Yes, from Morocco to your home, anywhere in the world.


How is shipping calculated?

Shipping is included during preorder campaigns, and transparent at checkout otherwise.

How are rugs packed?

Each rug is carefully rolled, wrapped in cotton fabric, and shipped in eco-friendly packaging.

What should I know about Shipping & Delivery

Do you ship internationally?

Yes. We ship worldwide directly from our studio in Morocco, using trusted carriers like Aramex, DHL, or FedEx, depending on your location.

Each rug travels from the Atlas Mountains to your doorstep — carefully handled, insured, and tracked all the way.

How is shipping calculated?

During our preorder campaigns, shipping is complimentary.

Outside these periods, shipping costs are transparent and automatically calculated at checkout, based on your region and the rug’s dimensions.

We never add hidden fees — what you see is what you pay.

Are taxes and customs duties included?

Yes. We include all taxes and import duties in the price displayed at checkout.

This means you’ll receive your rug without paying anything extra upon delivery — no surprises, no additional paperwork.

We manage all customs procedures to ensure a smooth arrival.

How long does delivery take?

  • Ready-to-ship rugs → 5–10 business days.
  • Made-to-order rugs → 4–6 weeks of weaving, plus 1–2 weeks for finishing and delivery.

Each rug travels slowly and consciously — we’ll notify you once it leaves Morocco with full tracking details.

1. Shipping Modes

  • All rugs are shipped from Morocco with door-to-door delivery.
  • We use DDP mode (Delivered Duty paid) — customers may handle taxes in some regions.

During pre-launch campaigns, all shipments are managed under DDP to offer a smooth experience — no hidden fees at delivery.

2. Timelines

  • Every rug is woven to order, requiring 4–6 weeks for production.
  • Once finished, we conduct quality checks, cleaning, and packaging before dispatching.
  • Transit times:

    Europe & UK: 5–8 business days

    USA & Canada: 7–10 business days

    Middle East & Asia: 8–12 business days

    Australia: 10–15 business days

Tracking is provided immediately after shipment.

3. Carriers & Tracking

We collaborate with Aramex, DHL, and FedEx, ensuring reliability and real-time tracking.

You’ll receive an email notification once your rug departs Morocco with a tracking number to follow every step.

4. Packaging & Sustainability

  • We use plastified jute to protect the rug from exterior humidity, and keeps the packaging elegant.
  • It can be reused in any of your DIY project, or simply to wrap a Gift for Chrismas or for your best friend's Birthday.
  • Each rug is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity, hand-signed by our cooperative.

5. Insurance & Guarantee

Every shipment is fully insured until delivery.

If your rug arrives damaged, please contact us within 48 hours — we’ll arrange a replacement or repair at no cost.

6. Customs & Taxes Transparency

  • DDP Europe / US: all taxes and duties included.

    We aim to simplify your experience, no matter where you are.

7. Returns in Transit

In the rare case of customs refusal or non-delivery, the piece will be returned to Morocco.

We’ll contact you to reschedule delivery or refund your order, depending on the situation.

Which payments do you accept?

PayPal and major credit cards. All currencies are accepted.


Are taxes included?

Yes, all taxes and duties are included in the final price. we deliver DDP*, so you can enjoy the reception of your Rug with no Surprises.

Can I return my rug?

As each rug is handmade to order, returns are not possible once weaving has started.

If your rug arrives damaged or incorrect, we’ll replace or remake it.
Care

How do I care for my rug?

Vacuum lightly without a brush, rotate occasionally, avoid prolonged sun exposure.


Can I wash it?

We recommend professional cleaning every few years.

Will it shed?

A little, at first — a natural sign of pure wool. It softens beautifully over time.
