TIGHREMT means kasbah, the rammed-earth fortresses scattered across the Aït Bouguemaz valley and throughout the Atlas. Built on mountain slopes, they reflect Amazigh ingenuity: constructing with local earth, stone, and wood to shelter and organize community life. Many still stand today, resilient to time and the seasons.
The rug reflects this architectural strength through its bold geometric motifs and its palette of light terracotta, brick red, and Tadellakt brown, directly inspired by the shades of sunlit rammed earth. Each color recalls a compacted layer of earth, each shape a protective wall.
Part of the Paths of Aït Bouguemaz Collection, Tighremt naturally resonates with modern architecture: pure geometry, minimalism, and harmony with the landscape. Rammed earth, used for centuries, is now celebrated as a sustainable, ecological material. Tighremt thus becomes an ancient fortress reimagined as a contemporary design piece.
Explore in our Blog Stories how Atlas kasbahs were built in rammed earth, defended as fortresses, and transformed into heritage icons.

                      Rug Description

Tighremt means kasbah, the fortified houses of the Atlas valleys, symbols of stability and endurance. This rug is woven in ivory wool with bold geometric shapes in brick red, light terracotta, and earthy brown, recalling the architecture of rammed-earth walls. The rhythmic forms convey strength and rootedness. Its medium pile brings both softness and durability, well suited for dining or living areas. Every rug is handwoven under fair-trade practices, carrying slow design and the architectural memory of Morocco.
