TAQBILT means tribes, the Amazigh mountain communities bound by blood, memory, and land. The rug conveys this structure with a natural wool ivory background, bright as Atlas light, crossed by fine black diamonds. At the center of each diamond, a black dot represents a home, a seed, or an individual within the whole.

In Amazigh art, the diamond symbolizes fertility and lineage, while the dot evokes the individual or the household. Together they form a tribal map: multiple, distinct, yet connected. The black-and-white contrast reinforces this unity in difference, both sober and powerful.

Part of the Paths of the Mountains Collection, TAQBILT embodies the strength of the collective. A piece that expresses the balance between personal identity and belonging, in the sober, timeless aesthetics of the Beni Ouarain.

What makes it unique

Rug Features

Rug Description

Taqbilt means tribes, symbols of unity, kinship, and shared strength. This rug features a natural ivory wool base structured by a lattice of black diamond outlines, each containing a smaller filled diamond at its heart. The repeating pattern evokes the interconnectedness of Amazigh tribes, where each family is part of a greater whole. Its medium pile offers warmth and resilience, making it ideal for living areas or social spaces. Each rug is handwoven and one-of-a-kind, crafted under fair-trade conditions, embodying slow design and the collective memory of Moroccan heritage.
