TIZI means mountain pass, the hollow between two peaks that connects one valley to another. The rug conveys this symbolism through two large black diamonds, each marked with a central six-branched star-like symbol.
In Amazigh art, this motif can be read as a guiding star or as the ⵣ (yaz) character, emblem of the free man (Amazigh). Placed at the heart of the diamond, it becomes a protective marker, a talisman for those who cross the mountains. The zigzag border recalls the steep reliefs and winding paths of the pass.
Part of the Paths of the Mountains, TIZI embodies transition: overcoming peaks, linking two valleys, moving forward despite obstacles. A sober and powerful piece, where the Amazigh symbol becomes a compass and the rug a metaphor of the journey

What makes it unique
Rug Features
Rug Description
TIZI means mountain pass, the narrow yet vital paths that connect valleys and guide travelers through the Atlas. This rug features a natural ivory wool base with two bold central diamonds outlined in black, each framing an Amazigh symbol of identity and resilience. Zigzag borders along the sides echo the rugged contours of cliffs and winding trails. The design speaks of passage, protection, and the courage to cross from one horizon to another. Its medium pile provides warmth and durability, making it well suited for hallways, entryways, or spaces of transition within the home. Each rug is handwoven and one-of-a-kind, crafted under fair-trade conditions, embodying slow design and the enduring rhythm of journeys through Moroccan mountains
